I really need those eight free days that are ahead of me now. I feel tired and drained of energy and hope to get back on track during those eight days. I started reading a new book (my second book since Mia was born ha ha) and so far it has been really good. It is written by Astrid Seeberger and is called "Den skamlösa nyfikenheten". I am not sure how to translate it, but it's a book that everyone who works with people who are very ill and have chronic conditions should read. Astrid is a very experienced doctor who has worked for over 25 years with patients who suffer of different kidney diseases and as we know these patiens are often very ill. The book talks about her own experiences and reflections on patiens she has met and how to reach to those who have given up. How I came to know this book was that I had the honour to listen to her lecture on Wednesday where Astrid in a very engaging and beautiful way talked about her patients and her book. Some people have a talent for telling storys and she is really one of them. The whole audience was quiet and took in every single word that she said and almost wanted the lecture not to end. I just had to get my copy of the book. To my knowledge this book is written in Swedish, but I hope it will come in other languages too.
